Story of the Wine:
Champagne is arguably the world’s most famous wine that has established its reputation over the last 300 years. There are 2 main types of Champagne house the big famous names such as Moet and Bollinger and over the last 40 years there has been the growth of small, family producers. Laforge-Testa is one such small, family producer that in the past sold their grapes and juice to houses such as Moet et Chandon and Jacquart. It is situated in the valley of the Marne at Charly sur Marne, half way between Paris and Reims. It has been a family owned concern for 4 generations and they own all their vineyards.
Grape(s): 70% Pinot Noir and 30% Chardonnay
Area: From 22 parcels of vineyards in Charly sur Marne (20%) and Crouttes sur Marne (80%).
Pink champagne is the epitome of liveliness and frivolity, although in fact the taste is always more substantial. A delightful salmon pink to onion skin colour and a freshness and fullness on the nose is well balanced on the palate with a richness and dry finish.
