Story of the wine:
The Cotes du Rhone has been a significant wine producing area since the Romans colonised France after entering from Marseilles. The wines represent excellent value for money. The winery is a co-operative that was begun in 1926 and is situated just north of the town of Orange in the Vaucluse department.
Grape(s): Grenache Syrah Carignan Mouvedre
Area: From vineyards around the town of Serignan du Comtat just north of Orange.
Cotes du Rhone is one of the smooth French wines and can produce brilliant value for money year in year out as the wine shows. A lovely firm berry fruit nose. On the palate a classically well structured Rhone flavor, a touch of crispness in middle palate and followed by a softly dry finish.
