Story of the wine:
Sancerre a medieval, hilltop town on the eastern end of the river Loire, is the original and classic Sauvignon Blanc. Up to the phylloxera epidemic of the late 19th century Sancerre was best known for red wines. It is now mainly white wines from the Sauvignon grape, although a certain amount of red and rose is still produced. Marcel Baron create in 1869 his domaine in Sainte Gemme en Sancerrois. Winemaker by passion, he was rural policemam and city hall secretary at the same time. Tradition was follow by his daughter Andrée Baron married with René Foucher.
It’s in homage to their grandparents and great grandparents than Clément and Florian work the family vineyard Baron Foucher.

Area: From vineyards in the Sainte-Gemme-en-Sancerrois.
It has a traditional rounded sauvignon nose that does not hit you over the head and with a creamy tone on the nose. Good weight on the palate and a firm crisp finish.
Bright straw coloured wine with green glints. The clean, racy nose reveals hints of grapefruit, white flowers and flintiness. On the palate, the attack is full and silky, rich and plump with underlying freshness.
